Wow! The Hand of God, or Manus Dei in Latin, is a real thing. It’s also known as Dextera domini/dei, which means the “right hand of God”. This motif was popular in Jewish and Christian art from Late Antique to Early Medieval times when it wasn’t okay to depict Yahweh or God the Father as a full human figure. Pretty cool, huh?
